Program Execution
- Double click on the scissor icon located in Windows, Start,
All Programs
- By default, CleanMP3 will try to associate WINAMP as its preferred MP3 player.
- If CleanMP3 can't find WINAMP.EXE in C:\Program Files\Winamp\, you will be asked to select a player
using the Player button of CleanMP3
- Click on the Player button and browse your C:\Program
Files\ to locate and
select your favorite player executable file
- Select an MP3 file with the Open button
- The program will figure out the file size, file time, frame header, recording quality, leader and
trailer locations
- It will keep track of all the frame header information in a temporary file carrying the same name
as the source file and ending with the .hdr extension
- The temporary header file will appear in your CleanMP3 program folder while the source file is
still opened
- The header file will be destroyed as soon as you close the source file or the program.
- Click on the Play button to the left of your MP3 source file.
- The selected MP3 file will play in the player associated with CleanMP3.
- Have a look at your MP3 player and take a note, in seconds, where you would like to remove a
section of MP3 file and where you would like to add Fade-In and Fade-Out effect.
- Slide the Begin Clean Time and or the End Clean Time scroll bars to the values
that you took while
listening to the MP3 file.
- Slide the Volume Control, Fade-In and Fade-Out controls as desired.
- You can also insert another MP3 file at a selected time of your source file.
- It is recommended that you prepare and clean this file before you proceed with the insertion.
- This step may include cutting, fade-in, fade-out and volume control operations.
- You should also make sure that you remove the leader and trailer section of this
insert file with the
check boxes at the bottom of CleanMP3 window
- Press the Clean push button and the cleaning process will take place
- The original MP3 file will remain intact
- The new file will be created in the same folder as the original file
- The new file will carry the same name as the original file name, with an additional character
"1" appended to the right of the file name
- Click on Play button to the left of this new file
- If the result requires minor adjustments, you may narrow down to a single frame of music with
the Zoom check box
- You just have to repeat the steps above with the original MP3 file and adjust until you are
satisfied.
- If you have an MP3 file that you want to keep only a middle section and eliminate the
beginning and the end of it, you can select the Save Cut check box
- Use the Begin and End Clean Time to select this middle section
- Click on the Play button to the left of the Cut File
- If the result requires minor adjustments, you may narrow down to a single frame of music with
the Zoom check box
- You just have to repeat the steps above with the original MP3 file and adjust until you are
satisfied.
- Press the Clean push button and the cleaning process will take place
- The original MP3 file will remain intact
- Two new files will be created in the same folder as the original file
- One ending with 1.MP3 which will be missing a middle section
- One ending with C.MP3 which will be the actual middle section
- This is only to get you started with CleanMP3, but there is much more that you can do.
